Dual boiler system with lead-lag control
SOUTH BEND, IN — ThermoSteam Systems, Inc. Dual-Boiler System with lead-lag control assures efficient, reliable performance and versatility of function.
Thermosteam dual boiler.jpg
The Dual-Boiler with lead-lag control has the steam storage capacity of a horizontal boiler and the performance and space saving compact design of a vertical boiler. It fits into boiler rooms where a single large boiler of the same capacity cannot, thus saving floor space.
Most boilers are either all “on” or all “off” The lead-lag sequencing control of the Dual-Boiler provides overall combustion efficiency and burner stability when loads and demands are variable. It can run on one burner during non-peak steam demand and then return to full fire when the load increases.
The Dual-Boiler user pays only for the steam that’s needed, creating fuel savings and less downtime. If either burner requires maintenance, the second burner can still function, so production is not interrupted.
Like all ThermoSteam boilers, the Dual-Boiler utilizes the Insta-Therm design; which means the condensate tank and pump are built right into the boiler. The return water is pre-heated to achieve even more fuel savings.
All components and controls are pre-mounted, factory plumbed and wired. There are no external parts to buy or install. The system is available in six models from 25 to 120 Bhp.

Cleaning kit for athletic shoes
GAITHERSBURG, MD — “Professional Shoe Re-Nu,” a new system for processing athletic shoes, is being introduced by Herson Supply.
Processing is done three pairs of shoes at a time, due to the fact that some of the chemistry is absorbed in the leathers and some of the chemistry charges the water.
Shoes are cleaned in the washer, running on low level at a regular time cycle with warm water. Before processing the laces are removed and 12 ounces of the chemical solution is poured into a measuring cup. A brush dipped in the solution is used to scrub bad spots on the shoes before putting them in the washer.
After washing the included shoe trees are inserted into the shoes and, after wrinkles are smoothed out, the shoes are left to dry, probably overnight. Once dry, the included black or white paint/dye pen is used to touch up any spots where color may have rubbed void. The trees are removed and replacement laces are placed inside the shoes to be returned to the customers.
A starter kit consists of two gallons of the chemical solution, three pairs of shoe finishing trees, two dye touch-up pens, laces and a counter top marketing “before and after” display. The two gallons of chemistry is enough to process 64 pairs of shoes. Additional chemistry can be purchased one gallon at a time. The dye/paint pens will need to be replaced occasionally.
Herson said the total processing cost is about $3 per pair of shoes and the service can be sold to customers at $20 per pair.

Suede and leather spray
TULSA OK — Royaltone’s Suede Sheen is formulated for cowhides, pigskins, multi-colors and trims on cloth. It won’t discolor trimmed fabrics while deepening the color and softening the feel of skins and serving as a carrying agent for Brit-N dyes.
The cowhide or pigskin suede or naked leather garment is placed on a hanger and sprayed evenly and liberally using a hand sprayer from a distance of approximately six inches.
To restore the brightness of faded cowhide or pigskin suede garments or naked leathers, add Brit-N dye to the suede sheen and spray.
