Böwe moves US headquarters
Böwe Textile Cleaning USA , Inc. is settling in to its new headquarters in Charlotte, NC,, having made the moved from Dallas, TX, at the beginning of the year.
With the lease on its Dallas offices up for renewal, the company decided to make the move “to be close to our key markets and the proximity to other subsidiaries of our parent company.” Both the office and warehouse were moved at the end of December.

The new location will lower operating costs and reduce the lead time on new equipment delivery from the factory in Germany, resulting in better support for customers, the company said.
Relocating with the company will be Bill Morgal, senior technical support representative, Misty Douglass, office/operations manager, and John Bogert, President/CEO.
At the new location, Böwe Textile Cleaning USA, Inc. will continue to maintain its own offices and staff as in Dallas. New hires will be made in Charlotte to fill all open positions in the company.
“We are excited to be moving into a new facility designed and built for our needs, said Bogert. “We look forward to welcoming our customers to our new home in Charlotte.”
The company also noted that since its successful showing of the new Sixth Generation line of machines, the Augsburg, Germany, factory has been filled with new orders and is working overtime to ship the machines to customers. Nonetheless, orders are still being accepted and the new machines will be shipped promptly, the company said.
An open house, distributor meeting and technical training on the Sixth Generation machine line, as well as the introduction of new Veit finishing equipment, were being planned at the new North Carolina headquarters.
The new contact information for the company is as follows: Böwe Textile Cleaning USA, Inc., 1855 Lindbergh St., 100 Charlotte, NC, 28208; phone (800) 287-0870 or (704) 264-2910; fax 704-264-2920.

NIE returning 90% of profit to policyholders
The advisory committee of NIE Insurance recently voted in favor of returning 90 percent of its 2003 profits to policyholders, adding up to over $1.5 million altogether.
For the second consecutive year, the company will be issuing a dividend of 15 percent to most policyholders.
NIE, which insures over 2,500 fabric care companies, is the International Fabricare Institute’s endorsed provider, giving a 6 percent up-front credit to its members. That savings, combined with the $1.5 million in profits being returned to policyholders, adds up to a savings of over 20 percent for IFI members.
As for the remaining 10 percent of profits from 2003, NIE plans to retain the funds to support future growth of the company.
Policyholders who have been affiliated with NIE for more than two years — as of the end of 2003 — will benefit the most from the company’s generosity, receiving cash dividends equal to 15 percent of their earned premium, plus credits to their individual Subscriber Savings Accounts (SSA) for the remainder of the 90 percent profit return.
Companies who have been with NIE for less than two years of continuous coverage won’t earn back cash dividends, but, instead, will receive lower returns as an added bonus.
According to NIE President Bob Aikin, the average IFI member pays a premium of $3,931, accounting for the 6 percent premium credit of $251.
“If that average IFI member has been with us over two years, they will get a March dividend of $590 plus a subscriber savings account credit,” Aikin noted.
The precise amount of the subscriber credit is still being calculated.
Those SSA credits, along with the dividend checks, will be issued to policyholders in March. All SSA distributions will have to be approved by insurance regulators.
For more information, call (888) 325-9522 or visit www.NIE.biz.
