Allied trades leaders take stock, plan for
change
Under the theme “Change
Happens,” the Textile Care Allied Trades Association met
for its annual convention in Hilton Head Island, SC, May 12-15.
With over 140 registrants, the convention
was the best attended in recent years. The convention heard
from Tom Wentz, president of Corporate Performance Systems, who
challenged attendees to make fundamental changes in the way
they think about business, and Bruce Merrifield, Jr., who
discussed how old business methods are no longer profitable and
offered solutions. In addition to the business meetings,
attendees enjoyed a number of recreational and social
activities.
Special awards given to various TCATA
members included recognition of Southern Mills on its 75 years
of TCATA membership. The association’s L. Frank Wright
“Young Timer of the Year” award was presented to
National Clothesline’s Leslie Schaeffer.
The association’s next annual
meeting will be held in Phoenix, AZ, April 27-30.
