NCA hosts upcoming programs at NY School
of Drycleaning
The next few months will be busy ones for
the National Cleaners Association and its members thanks to a slate of
educational classes and certification opportunities that have
been scheduled at the organization’s New York School of
Drycleaning, located at 252 W. 29th St.
On Monday, July 12, NCA will begin a
ten-week “Principles and Practices of Drycleaning”
course that will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays between 7 and
11 pm until September 20. The same program will run
again later in the year between the dates of October 4
and December 15.
In all, students will attend 80 hours and
learn a little about everything in the industry — from
advanced spotting techniques to stain and fiber identification.
Tuition is $970 per person, plus attendees
have the option of spending extra on instructional aides: a
helpful Student Notebook and Fabric Book cost $40 each.
On Sunday, July 18 and 25, NCA will
present a 16-hour, two-day course on New York certification for
Korean cleaners. The cost is $509 per member and $975 per
non-member.
Another two-day certification opportunity
for Korean cleaners has been scheduled for September 19 and 26,
as well.

will hold a one-day Sunday session on wetcleaning on the 12th
day of the month. It will cost $250 for members and $275 for
non-members.
During the week of September 13-17, NCA
will deliver a 40-hour educational program on “Managing
For The Millennium.” Members pay $750; non-members pay
$995.
“Customer Service Rep Technical
Training” will be taught on September 19, between 8:30 am
and 5 pm Tuition is $250 for each member and $275 for each
non-member.
Finally, the association will round out
the month with an intensive one-week general drycleaning course
offering that will begin on September 29. The class meets from
