SEFA releases seminar schedule for July
show
On the weekend of July 24 and 25, the South
Eastern Fabricare Association will
cover a bevy of drycleaning-related topics at its 2004 Southern
Drycleaners Show.
Saturday will feature “Live Spotting
Demos” by Kenney Slatten of R.R. & Street Co. between
11 a.m and 2 pm
Prior to that, Jim Goulet of Steiner
Atlantic will be present at 8 am to discuss drycleaning
equipment maintenance for approximately an hour. Immediately
afterward, a program entitled “Marketing Strategies: What
Were They Thinking” will begin. It will feature guest
speaker Robert McMath of New Product Works, an organization
that consults companies on new product development.
A panel discussion will start the
day’s events on Sunday morning at 8 am The topic for the
hour-long session will be “Environmental Issues.”
It will be moderated by Anita Dorsey-Word of the Small Business
Assistance Program.
At 9 am, route expert Rex Carrigan of
Carrigan Consulting will share his expertise on how cleaners
can expand their business through the use of home delivery
service.
Later in the day, Kenney Slatten will be
back on the floor from 11 am until 2 pm to provide more
spotting demonstrations for attendees.
In addition to the educational programs,
the exhibit hall will be open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm
on Saturday and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.
The show will take place at the Savannah
International Trade & Convention Center, located at One
International Drive in Savannah, GA.

Registration for the Southern Drycleaners
Show is $15 for plant owners, $5 for plant employees, and $50
for non-exhibiting Allied Tradesman. There is no charge for
members of the news media.

Stain removal seminar set for August 14
Texchine, Inc. will be working together
with Phenix Supply Co. and CleanersPlus.com to host a free
stain removal seminar in Marietta, GA.
The program will run from 10 am until 3 pm
on Saturday, August 14.
Co-sponsor R.R. Street & Co. Inc. will
provide the services of stain removal instructor Kenney
Slatten, widely known throughout the industry as “The
Cowboy Cleaner”.
He will deliver hands-on demonstrations of
beginning and advanced stain removal processes and techniques.
Attendees are encouraged to bring along
their problem garments for processing.
