Certification sign-up deadline near
Cleaners interested in taking the October
2 CPD, CPW, or CED exam must register by August 15.
IFI offers three professional certifications —
Certified Professional Dry Cleaner, Certified Professional Wet
Cleaner, and Certified Environmental Dry Cleaner — which
are administered at test sites around the country by the
Professional Testing Corporation, an independent testing
organization.
Those who successfully complete all three
certification programs will garner an added distinction, the
title Certified Garment Care Professional. Announced via a
large college-sized diploma, IFI’s Certified Garment Care
Professional certificate is free, but it must be earned to
receive it. Cleaners who are one certificate short of earning
this special distinction are encouraged to register for the
October 2 exam.
The CPD and CPW exams are $395, and the
CED exam, which is also available in Korean, is $275.
Discounted rates apply for IFI members ($295 for the CPD and
CPW exams and $175 for the CED test).
