SEFA focuses on personnel, routes for October seminars
The South Eastern Fabricare Association will present three different seminars in South Carolina during the month of October, including two specifically designed to train plant personnel.
On Thursday, October 14, the featured topic will be “Quality Customer Service” at the Clarion Hotel, located at 7401 Northwoods Blvd. near the N. Charleston Airport. Former IFI instructor Fran Sadler will lead the class.
A second-generation cleaner, she is a graduate of IFI’s six-week General Drycleaning and Management Course and the former owner of a successful drycleaning operation in Massachusetts.
Also coming up are two seminars on Saturday, October 16. The first will also be taught by Sadler and will cover “Drycleaning Finishing.” It will be at Dixie Cleaners, located at 407 Gardner Blvd. in Holly Hill, SC.
On the same day, Rex Carrigan will help plant owners and managers learn more about “Route Sales & Computers” at the Holly Hill Depot Community Center, 8603 Old State Rd. in Holly Hill, SC.
Carrigan brings over 40 years of sales experience to the session, including 14 years in route sales and plant management for White Way Cleaners in Nashville, Tennessee.

Biz Builder plans Fla. seminar on routes
Al Robson of Biz Builder Services will reveal the secrets of “Building Profitable Routes” on Saturday, October 16 at the Hilton Garden Inn Airport in Orlando, FL.
Robson and routes sales specialist James Peuster will cover all aspects of route building: how and where to start a route; route mapping; commercial versus residential; compensating drivers; to calculating profitability. In addition to discussing how to start or expand residential pickup and delivery routes, he will examine how to hire and train sales representatives, and how to find and sign up customers.
The cost is $399 per attendee; for two or more from the same plant, the cost is $349 per person.

Tri-State hosts live equipment show in NC
North Carolina cleaners seeking to narrow down their new equipment options should mark October 9-10 on their calendars. On that date, Tri-State Laundry Equipment will present its second annual Live Equipment Show at 1031 E. Mountain St.
