Paint, oil, grease removal
Containing no chlorinated solvents, TarGo
EF meets California’s new V.O.C. regulations and complies
with the state’s Prop 65 requirements. TarGo EF has the
stain removal power of TarGo Dry and is for removing
oil-based stains when used with alternative solvents.
TarGo EF is a direct application stain
remover that is used on the spotting board. It is safe for use
on most colors and fabrics and can be used in coordination with
alternative solvents as well as with perc.
With the introduction of TarGo EF, A.L.
Wilson now offers environmentally friendly P.O.G. stain
removers for both drycleaning and laundry applications. Laundry
TarGo, introduced several years ago, is a stain remover that is
safe for use on most fabrics and colors and safe to go
down the drain.
TarGo EF is available in 16-ounce
applicator bottles and in gallons.
Customer retention program
Peachtree cITy, GA — Signature Channels, LLC, has launched a
customer loyalty program for drycleaners through Upromise, a
private source of college funding that helps families save
money for college while making everyday retail purchases.
The program focuses on customer
acquisition and retention. Participating companies reward
Upromise members for their business with money back for
college.
Upromise families can save for college
through tax-advantaged 529 plans, or by using Upromise
contributions to help pay off student loans.
Customers join Upromise by enrolling on
the web site, www.upromise.com. When an enrolled credit card is
used to make a qualified purchase, the Upromise member gets
money back for college.
There is no upfront payment by drycleaners
to participate. The primary cost is incurred in the customer
reward and an administrative fee for qualified Upromise
transactions, which occurs when a registered Upromise customer
pays for drycleaning services with the credit card that was
registered on the Upromise website. The cleaner pays the reward
only when a new Upromise customer is gained or an existing
customer takes advantage of the value Upromise offering.
To participate, a drycleaner owner must
complete a Upromise/Signature Channel enrollment form and
complete a credit card merchant authorization form.
The enrollment form confirms the name of
the drycleaning owner, the number of shops enrolled, and the
amount of the reward that the drycleaner will pay.
The reward offered for qualified Upromise
consumer drycleaning transactions is 3 percent plus an
administrative fee for each qualified transaction.
The second step is to complete the
merchant authorization form. The program is a credit card based
program and all rewards are calculated based on the number of
qualified transactions that the participating store completes
on a daily basis.
The merchant authorization form lets an
intermediary company pull the store’s daily credit card
transactions and match them with the Upromise member database.
This intermediary company abides by all
required consumer privacy laws and is responsible for
identifying and reporting all qualified Upromise drycleaning
transactions by operator and by store.
At the end of each month, Signature
Channels receives reports of the participating
drycleaners’ qualified Upromise transactions, the date of
the transaction, the amount, the store in which they occurred,
and the last four digits of the credit card number of the
consumer.
Signature Channels sends these reports to
each participating drycleaning owner, along with a billing for
the amount of the consumer reward and related administrative
fees.
Upromise then takes the reward portion of
the monthly invoice and applies it to the respective
members’ college savings accounts.

Additive for soil removal
TULSA, OK — Royaltone’s Soil Go soil release is a concentrated batch
additive that eliminates prespotting, harsh brushing and costly
reruns on heavily soiled and stained items in drycleaning with
no prespotting.
Soil Go removes heavy soil and ring type
spots and stains in the drycleaning wheel the first time the
garments are cleaned and works with any detergent system in any
drycleaning fluid.
The company said that Soil Go will not
build up, has no undesirable side effects, is color-safe and
swale-free for all cloth garments in drycleaning, and has
anti-static action to suppress static electric shock and
linting.
Added to the drycleaning wheel full
strength, Soil Go helps control moisture for brighter whites,
rayons, linens, cottons and heavily soiled trench coats and
removing yellow stains.
To use, one ounce is added to the cleaning
wheel for each ten pounds of clothes. For best results, it
should be added to the start of the drycleaning cycle and run
on batch for three to eight minutes before running on filter.
