Biz Builders offers route building seminar in L.A.
Biz Builder Services subscribes to the belief that all drycleaners must seriously consider developing residential routes because they provide the quickest and most effective way to grow retail drycleaning sales.
Of course, in order to develop those routes successfully, cleaners must incorporate a tried-and -true strategy .
On Saturday, November 20, Biz Builder consultant and National Clothesline columnist Al Robson will head to Los Angeles, California, in hopes of teaching interested cleaners all of the route building fundamentals they will need to know in order to profitably build, expand and maintain pickup and delivery routes.
Some of the topics scheduled for discussion include: finding and signing up customers; finding additional good customers; the dilemma of commercial buildings vs. residential delivery; route mapping; and the pros and cons of using a driver as a sales representative.
The seminar will also focus on how to maximize the sales volume of each route customer and how to calculate the profitability of routes with an emphasis on the importance of utilizing reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
The session is scheduled to run all day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The fee is $399 for a single attendee; however that price drops to $349 each for two or more attendees who hail from the same plant.
A continental breakfast and boxed lunch will be included in the cost.
Seating is limited so early registration is recommended.
Attendees can register online under a secure server at www.bizbuilderonline.com.

NWDCA members cash in on refunds
Members of the Northwest Drycleaners Association who are currently active in the workers compensation rating program recently received refunds totaling $12,675
When averaged out, that figure amounts to about $600 per person, which covers almost two full years of typical membership dues.
The unique workers compensation program helps enrolled cleaners by seeking to reduce their individual company’s worker compensation costs and sharing additional savings among all members.
The program offers Integrated Claims management assistance that addresses issues such as workers’ compensation cost controls, claims management, workplace safety, ergonomics, OSHA/WISHA compliance and loss prevention.
As an added bonus, the help is made available to members with no direct cost because it helps to achieve net results that are lower than anticipated claims and costs, thus leading to a substantial refund check given to all participants.
