PDCA lines up speakers for Atlantic City Expo programs
The educational programming for the Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners Association’s
annual convention this September will prove to be a busy one.
The event will take place on the weekend of Sept. 23 through 25 at the Atlantic City
Convention Center.
Prior to PDCA’s convention on Saturday and Sunday, the association will host a special
program on Friday.
Industry consultant Trudy Adams, from Blue Egg Consulting and 21st Century Drycleaners,
will be on hand that day to talk to owners and managers about “The Power of Touch Point.”
During her session, she will explain how customer service, sales, marketing, and production
all connect to create a Customer Centric Company that differentiates your business and allows
you to stand out in the crowd.
The program is free for all PDCA members and $75 each for non-members.
Adams will also return for another educational presentation on Sunday morning. She will
examine “Creating a Super Customer Service Representative.”
There will be a few other programs on Saturday and Sunday, as well. Those will be free for
attendees.
James Peuster from The Route Pro will discuss “Taking Your Route to the Next Level” on
Saturday morning.
He will be followed by Peter Blake, executive vice president for the North East Fabricare
Association, who will outline “Ten Things You Can Do Right Now to Increase Sales.”
Attendees of PDCA’s Expo 2016 can also enjoy free admission to the exhibit hall, which will
feature live demonstrations and aisles of the latest goods and services every drycleaning
business needs to be more successful.
It should be noted that non-exhibiting tradespeople must pay $300 each for admission.
The hall will be open from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 and from 10 a.m.
until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.
The show floor will also host several live demonstrations and additional educational
programs for attendees. Bob Edwards of A.L. Wilson will demonstrate how to use
environmentally sound products for stain removal in “The Greening of the Spotting Board.” His
programs will take place on both days.
During the weekend, there will be finishing demonstrations by Unipress and Sankosha.
PDCA has secured a pair of discounted hotel options close to the convention center. The
Sheraton Atlantic City will have rooms at a rate of $165 per night for those who call (888)
627-7212  and make reservations.
Then, there is the Harrah’s Resort. Call (888) 516-2215 and mention the Expo (group code
SH09DC6) to take advantage of a $149 rate on Sept. 23, $229 on Sept. 24 and $59 on Sept.
25. There is also a daily resort fee of $10 per room plus 14 percent tax.
