The Tuchman Advisory Group, formerly known as Tuchman Training Systems, gathered June
22-24 in Wichita, KS, for a meeting hosted by Dave Coyle of In The Bag Cleaners.
They toured In The Bag’s central production facility and two retail locations. Frank Dubasik,
director of U.S. operations for Metalprogetti, was on hand to answer questions about his
recently installed equipment.
After the tour, the group critiqued In The Bag operations.
Guest speakers included Walt Smith, executive vice president and co-founder of Indy
Hangers, who discussed his company, and John Rothmann, KGO-AM810, talk show host, who
provided part two of his political analysis about the 2016 Presidential election. The group
gathered at the Coyle home for dinner.
It has been 30 years since Sid Tuchman created his cost groups that have helped many in the
drycleaning industry. Ellen Tuchman Rothmann announced at the meeting that the new name of
the group is the Tuchman Advisory Group, (TAG).
“We will continue our outstanding work and provide leadership in our industry,” said
Rothmann, who is president of TAG. “TAG membership constitutes an industry leading group.
We will continue to learn from each other as we work together to develop new systems and
approaches that will strengthen our individual companies.”

An 85th birthday celebration at Milt & Edie’s
Milt & Edie’s Drycleaners & Tailoring Center declared Friday, June 17 to be “Edie’s Day!” in
honor of Edie Chortkoff’s 85th birthday. Edie — along with her husband, Milt — were on hand
from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to treat customers to
cupcakes and giveaways.
To celebrate her milestone birthday, two
weeks of free drawings for Milt & Edie’s gift
certificates began on June 17 and everyone
was invited to visit Milt & Edie's Facebook
page to join in trivia contests focusing on
1930s big movie award winners, sports
victors and top-of- the-charts songs.
After attending the University of Florida,
Edie accompanied her parents on a trip to
California to visit relatives in 1953, fell in
love with Los Angeles and decided to stay.
She met Milt on a beach outing with mutual
friends the first Sunday in August 1955 and
they had their first official date the following
Saturday, a night of dining and dancing — an
ideal “date night” since Edie loved to dance,
especially the tango, and Milt had been an
Arthur Murray dance instructor.
On the drive home, before even sharing their first kiss, Edie says Milt told her he was going to
marry her. Within 10 weeks, on October 16, 1955, they tied the knot and they have now been
married for more than six decades.
